AIMSE offers individuals and organizations a variety of opportunities to make a difference in the life of a young person. The following are just a few examples of how you might join us in our efforts:

As a Career Path Mentor, individuals have the opportunity to work one-on-one with young people as they explore and plan their personal paths to success. Drawing from their own experiences as they ventured into young adulthood, mentors offer guidance, support, and serve as role models for youth as they negotiate challenges and celebrate their successes.

As a Partnering Organization, agencies and businesses have the opportunity to share their resources with young people as they explore the variety of careers and workplaces available to them. These partnerships may produce job shadowing, on-the-job training, and apprenticeship opportunities for young people. Through these partnerships, agencies and businesses have the unique opportunity to shape the next generation of workers, ensuring that prospective employees will possess the skills and competencies necessary to perform the job and meet with success.

As a Financial Contributor, individuals and/or agencies and businesses have the opportunity to enrich the array of resources available to young people through AIMSE. Funds may be used to purchase computers and related academic and career-oriented software, finance organized visits to colleges and workplaces, and assist youth with costs associated with achieving their goals. For example, funds may be used to pay for college application fees, purchase “tools of the trade” for various careers, or even obtain business attire for interviews or on-the-job training experiences.
